I had a prospective wedding client as me what my favorite parts about weddings/wedding photography are...

"I'm a sucker for the romance... I'm not a girly girl but try as I may, first dances, stolen glances, the little hand holds when no one (but my camera) is watching.. it all gets me right in the feels. Concerning the photography aspect. I love the details... Ring shots, candy displays, the lace and beading on wedding dresses, cuff links & ties, tablescapes and floral arrangements... All of the tiny details that brides put so much care into are so much fun to capture... But my favorite thing has to be playing with light... Deep, dramatic shadows and colors with that glowy "golden hour" sunset lighting.. I love to take my couples away from everyone (only briefly, I promise) either between the ceremony and reception or sometime after dinner between important reception traditions, and just bring the two of you to some intimate little corner garden, at the top of a hill in the setting sun or nestled among the trees where the light is just right... then I'll ask you to ignore me. Just talk... hold hands, hug, steal kisses.. and I capture that dynamic that exists between the two of you on the happiest day of your lives... once the stress of it all is over, the commitment has been made and all you have left to do is enjoy each other. That is my favorite part."
